Urban Legends

Have you ever wondered what an urban legend is.? An urban legend is false or everything thing in the story is not exactly real. People tell these stories to scare others or they actually believe in these things.

An urban legend that is very popular is Bloody Mary. Mary was a young girl who was very sick and she went into coma and her parents thought that she was dead. So her parents gave her a funeral and buried her ALIVE, because they did not know she was still alive. When Mary woke up she started to scream then she scratched the casket to get out. When her parents found her she was bloody. Rumor has it that if you go in the bathroom, turn the lights off, run the water, and say bloody Mary three times she will scare you to death.

Another urban legend is Candyman. Candyman is very similar to Bloody Mary. Candyman was a man who had died in an apartment building. People say that he haunts that building and he will shed innocent blood because what else is blood for. Also whoever he wants to be his “queen bee” he will kiss her with the bees in his mouth. To call on candyman you must go in your bathroom stand in the mirror, say candyman 5times and turn off the light. When you do that candyman will come and kill you.

One more urban legend that is known around is the Amityville horror. The Amityville horror was about a man who killed his entire family. The man says that he was being controlled by demons. A family moved in that house a month after the tragedy. They said that black ooze came from the toilets, and that the walls were bleeding. Rumors are that the house was built on Indian burial grounds and that’s were the evil was coming from. Also this story has been told in books and movies.

I’ve learned that many urban legends are based on the same thing. Also that they all deal with death and haunting. Most urban legends that go around are false and are just made up, but the ones like the Amityville horror are very true.
